Happy Holidays From The Lewis Law Group!
Staff |24 December 2019

As we celebrate the holidays and inevitably approach the new year, we want to take a moment to reflect on all the good things 2019 has brought to our practice. This year made 43 years in business and for that alone, we are immensely grateful. This year has been filled with many successful cases and  great relationships created and maintained. We would like to thank all of our clients for their confidence in our abilities to represent them. Our aim is and always will be to provide the most outstanding legal services while always remaining personally involved in each case. We would also like to thank our  referral partners. We are elated to know that over the years you have shown continuous support and confidence in our firm. We thank you for the professional relationship and we hope that it can be further strengthened and maintained in the years to come. Our staff are also simply amazing! It is through their dedication and daily efforts that we are able to be as successful as we are. We appreciate everything that you do - thank you!

The end-of-year season not only gives us the opportunity to reflect but to also give reminders pertinent for the holiday and new year season.  With this busy season, most people are out shopping, visiting family members and attending parties. We encourage you all to enjoy the holidays and make the most of the season by catching up on your relationships and making memories.  Here at the Lewis Law Group, we urge you to ensure you stay safe during the festivities. As we all know, holidays are occasions for fun and celebration, and alcohol usually play a big role in the festivities. But a combination of good cheer and abundant alcohol can take the fun too far. Binge drinking during the holidays is a big law enforcement and public health problem, and the statistics and data paint a picture that isn’t very festive.

During the holiday season, the incidence of vehicular accidents rises. According to valuepenguin.com, about 245 fatal accidents per year occur during New Year’s weekend while 231 fatal accidents occur per year over the Christmas weekend. This is due to the fact that more people are on the roadways, more people are driving drunk or distracted and people are under a lot of stress due to holiday planning or from holiday events. Each year, we see these types of cases and we’d like to remind you all to be careful on the roadways. Remember that life is precious but it can be lost in an instant if you’re reckless.

On the off-chance that you do end up in a fender bender, we advise you to call us for a free case evaluation. We have been representing clients across the Treasure Coast since 1975, so whether you’re facing a reckless driving or a DUI charge, or you were involved in an accident where someone hit you, just know that we can help. We know that being charged with DUI is a very serious criminal case. A driver charged with a DUI in Florida may be subject to fines, loss of license and even jail time and the resulting criminal record can greatly affect your life. The resulting personal hardships associated with a conviction can lead to job loss, broken personal relationships, and even divorce. Let us use our 43 years of experience to assist you through the DHSV (Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles) process.

The Holidays also provide a great platform for visiting relatives that we haven’t seen in a while or those who’ve declined in age and health and reside in a nursing home. If you don’t get a chance to visit your loved one regularly throughout the year, now may be the only opportunity to detect signs of neglect and abuse. Even though it may put a damper on the season, if your elderly loved one is in the care of a nursing home/caretaker and you have even the slightest suspicion that your caretakers use abusive practices that cause physical or emotional harm, you owe it to them and to your peace of mind to contact the experienced legal team at The Lewis Law Group. Never ignore your loved ones if they report to you that they are being mistreated. Equally be sure to pay close attention to changes in their condition, weight and even recent minor injuries.

We hope that this year has been a great one for you and we thank you for your support and confidence in us to handle your cases throughout 2019. We hope that you will continue to trust in us for all your personal injury, criminal defense, employment and labor law, commercial litigation and medical malpractice cases. May the new year bring you peace, joy and happiness. Happy Holidays from all of us here at the Lewis Law Group!
